I hate being a romantic sometimes… REALITY can be so disappointing.

You spend so much time with your head in the clouds, imagining how things should be, then something comes along and reminds you how you aren’t entitled to those childlike dreams anymore. Whatever, or whoever, just knocks all your idealogies out of the picture like the highschool bully shoving the resident “nerd” into a hallway locker. You aren’t Wendy and, lo and behold, there is no Neverland.

Good morning, you turn 24 today; there is no crown on your head and there is no prince at your doorstep waiting to sweep you off your feet. You may still be the “fairest of them all” according to your parents, but the rest of the world pays no mind and goes along with their daily business, with maybe a half-hearted “Happy Birthday” facebook post at best.

So, what’s a girl to do? Tuck in her lower lip and DO SOMETHING, that’s what! Don’t waste your life ladies, thinking about how things should be or could be… take charge and be the change. *Dream Big* and hope for the best but don’t get bogged down with things that aren’t worth your time. Be who you are and trust that you have a lot to offer - even if this person or that person forgets to give you the “‘atta girl” you’ve been counting on. Don’t spend your whole life waiting for someone else to define you.
